The ban on the promotion of gambling in Lithuania came into effect on July 1, 2021.
According to the decision taken by the authorities, comment-29871 the propaganda of gambling in any form and by any means, as well as the dissemination of information about gambling or the persuasion to gamble, are prohibited in this country.
Advertising of gambling in Lithuania is still allowed, but at the same time such advertising methods as special events, test games, discounts, gifts, bonuses or anything else that somehow stimulates participation in gambling are prohibited.
In addition, it is not permitted to post any information related to online games intended for persons under the age of 18, gambling operators are prohibited from sending any information about themselves directly to customers.
Thus, the Lithuanian authorities plan to solve the problems associated with gambling and reduce the amount of money that the country’s residents spend on gambling.
